Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The wine is silky, polished and mouth filling, and balanced between ripe fruit and savory influences. Flavors of plum, blackberry pie, pencil lead, and tobacco harmoniously blend with well integrated french oak influence. The rich and silky tannins lead to a finish that is fresh, lively and persisting on the palate.
Winemaker Notes
Winemaker Randy Hester was raised in Texas and cut his winemaking 'chops' studying in many of Napa Valleys' finest facilities. His sister brand, Lightning Wines, is produced in Napa using California fruit while C.L. Butaud remains his sole Texas label grown and produced in Texas.
Food Pairing Notes
Best paired with a marbled cut of meat or traditional Texas BBQ.
